Summer is HERE! Again

Had our 1st Official Beach Day of the Summer. My brother, his girlfriend, Tara, and my Mom all came and met us for the afternoon. We went to Seal Beach, which is the beach I grew up going to when we lived in Claremont. Now Seal Beach is a 10 minute drive from my house. CRAZY how life works :) This is the 1st summer Raya REALLY enjoys the beach. Her first summer she was brand new, last summer she was still in that I'm Probably Going to Eat the Sand age, so this summer shes all about the sand toys and playing in the water. She still hasn't officially out grown the Eating Sand Age. Whuck?! Yah, occasionally she'll lick the sand. Awesome. But all in all she's at a great age for the beach. Except when she starts sprinting down the stand and I have to chase her. In my bathing suit. No bueno ;)

Isn't that the cutest swim suit?! Its from my friend Megan.

Kallen spent most of the day napping in my lap or with Tara. The hard life.

Love me some Instagram and Hipstamatic :)

Fun times with Uncle B

I guess her first lesson with her Uncle taught her all she needed to know.

Beach Stroll with Nana

Kallen woke up when the sun came out. And was all smiles :) I love that little tongue!

California Girls

Who knows where we'll be years from now....but living by the beach and watching these babies grow up as beach bums will be one of my favorite things about this little life of ours.

And Last Year at This Time: I was kicking off Summer! Apparently I can't wait for summer ;)

Last Year as this Time...

I started my blog! Yipeee. A whole year :) So now I can add a "Last Year at this Time" link to my post the year before. Man, I've been waiting forever to do that. Lol. So Happy Birthday Kelsey Lately!

I have a ton of cute pictures from this weekend. I feel like so much happened in just 2 short days! Kallen is doing something new everyday. I feel like its right about now when the "Growing Up" really kicks in. Nooooooo. But seriously, I'm pretty sure Kallen is the best baby in all baby creations. I know, I'm his Mom, so my vote might be swayed, but seriously. This kid will fall asleep ANYWHERE. He cuddles and snuggles his days away. He's 100% happy sitting in my lap for hours on end watching his sister, or sitting at the beach with me, or hanging out in his car seat while I shop. WHO DOES THAT? lol. Raya was a very easy baby. I've been blessed with 2 good sleepers. But Kallen really takes the cake. He literally melts into my body and drifts off into the sweetest sleep. As long as he's full, he's happy as a clam! I really felt like all weekend I was saying, "OMG! You are the best baby ever!" Geeze kid. If all my babies were like this I could make a TON of money selling them ;) Haha, kidding. In "Growing Up" news: He now holds his own bottle and is getting really good at sitting by himself. I also introduced him to baby food. He's really over rice cereal already. But I don't really remember Raya eating much rice cereal either. He loves him some baby food! The 3rd time I "tried" feeding him he ate the whole jar! And I was just trying to teach him how to get food off the spoon. Clearly he's a quick learner ;)

So excited about Carrots

Hilarious

Raya is Raya. A fireball! Funny, Fast and Feisty! She had a lot of fun at the beach today. She's fearless and that's a bit scary when you're at the beach. The waves are big and for some reason my 2year old isn't phased by it. Lawd help me! Her go to word right now is "All Better". Everything is "All Better" all the time. Its pretty cute. And I finally made her Alphabet book! When she was first born a friend of mine made one for her son. Its personalized with pictures and words she knows. Then Shawna at Girls Just Wanna Have Fun wrote about making one for her daughter and I just so happen to get a free photo book from Shutterfly, so clearly it was the week to make one! PS- Speaking of Shutterfly. I'm a huge fan of them. They've done all our photo books, invitations, holiday cards, on and on. Well they recently redid their photo book section and its amazing!!! Its so easy to make very cute books. Here's Rayas (password is kgr1311): Raya's Alphabet Book Ignore Kallen's lame share site. I just use it to share projects, obviously.
And Raya's bathing suit! OMG. Its from my friend Megan.

Still my little helper
And still an incredible Big Sister

And last but not least:
Last Year at this Time...I wrote my first Kelsey Lately post!

Father's Day!

We had perfect Father's Day weather! I don't think that really matters to Gentry like it does to me :) We spent the day at home. I think Gentry organized the garage-but because he wanted to, not because i asked. Whatever floats your boat! Not much to post about, just some pictures, of course!

This is my all time favorite picture of them. Look at how much hair Kallen has!
I think he was about 2 months old here.
Dressed up like GI Joe for Father's Day

Listening to Daddy

Playing on the iPad while Dad watches the game.

This is how Father's Day started...

And this is how Father's Day ended.

And some of my favorite Daddy-Kid pictures from the last few months:
They're so mature. Gentry's birthday was last weekend. This was at his bday dinner.

While I shopped, Gentry entertained :)

Sunday Morning <3

YES! They have matching shoes. Daddy-Daughter Nike's. TOO CUTE

Sibling Love- June 2011

Whats with my once-a-week posts?! I hate it when that happens. Everyone's doing good here! Just running out of hours in the day. But the weather has been PERFECT and its clearly Summer! My favorite!!!

So Keeping Up with Kallen...
He's such a sweet boy. Right now he's extremely calm. Likes to watch whats going on around him. Will melt to your body. And if he's full and tired it literally takes 2 seconds of cuddling him and he's out like a light. However, he almost immediately wakes up when I put him in his crib. Uh! Raya never had a crib. She slept with us. But I really want him to sleep in his crib. Right now he'll only stay asleep in my bed. And I can't blame him. A hard baby mattress with just a sheet is not nearly as comfortable as a bed with a pillow top mattress and super soft sheets :) For my college graduation I asked for my parent's to Pimp out my Bed. I'm thinking he may ask for the same. He's just so dang cute and such a love bug! I kiss him all day long.

We have a sitter! Kinda. He leans forward and uses his arms,
but he's really good at it. He sits for awhile!
Such a sweet, sweet boy <3
His first taste of food: Sweet Potatoes!
We also tried rice cereal. He's not really into either...

Mama's Boy

He is so content in this. He'll sit outside in this and watch Raya or me.
He could probably be in it all day

And Raya Recently...
I really think Raya's going to be a class clown. She's really funny, a bit of a show off and loves to make people laugh. Right now she'll put her finger against her head and say "Think, Think, Think." Or pretend like she has a huge sneeze coming, "Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhh, Chuuu!" Watching her grow up breaks my heart just a little, but its one of the most amazing things! Its always something new and makes me so excited about what I have in store with her :) And then I meet people that say "Oh wow, she's so pretty, you're going to have to beat the boys off of her." And Gentry says "Beat? I'll just shoot them" :) So here's to growing up and praying Gentry stays out of jail ;)

This picture has Summer written all over it!

I told her to get something out of the fridge for lunch,
this is what she came back with. She's clearly my daughter.
I'd wear this outfit ;)

And a little Sibling Love:
In the 30 seconds it took me to upload a picture of my dog on
facebook, Raya climbed up on his tray.
Me: "Raya, what are you doing?!"
Raya: "Whhhhhhat?"
Playing with her toes while napping! LOL

Raya's face in this one cracks me up. It's a TOTAL smile of "I'm about to do something that I shouldn't, but its probably going to be funny."
