2 Under 2

I can't believe I only have 22 days left to write the "2 Under 2" posts. Raya will be 2 on April 22nd. GEEZE!!! So I thought I better do some posts while I still have 2 babies under 2 :)

They're still as cute as can be together. Raya is still loving having him around. Sometimes she gets so excited she can hardly stand it. She does this thing my brother use to do. I don't really know how to explain it. Its like she gets filled with excitement and kinda clinches her teeth and smiles and gets super close to him and rubs her nose on his face. It's like shes going to burst. Its pretty funny. I'll try to get it on video. And they're still at the perfect ages for super cute pictures together. It's hard to think that one day they're not going to want to take pictures together. Actually, that might not happen. For the most part my brother and I always liked taking pictures together. Here's some from the past weeks that just melt my heart.
This is the first picture I have of the 2 of them both smiling

Raya- Super Excited; Kallen- a little alarmed

A little Sunday morning dancing

I LOOOOOOVE this one. I ordered a coffee mug with this picture. My first "Mom" coffee mug with my TWO kids!

Sooooo excited about matching clothes. Here's their first set-Matching Jammies from Nana

She adores him <3

Raya is thankful for little brothers with hair.

I don't even have to tell her to kiss him :) She's loves lovin on him

Such a good big Sis...and Kallen's such a trooper

I also did some Comparison photos. I found one of Raya when she was almost 3 months, so I put Kallen on his belly hoping I could a similar shot. This is what I ended up with:
I think they have some similar features. Their eyebrows and foreheads are basically the same. They have similar shaped eyes, even though Kallen's look a little bigger. Similar chin/cheek shape, Kallen's are a little plumper, lol. I still don't know if I'd look at this picture and think they are siblings. I really think Raya looks like my baby picture and Kallen looks like Gentry's baby picture. So of course I did some more Comparisons :)

I think they have the same smile, same dimples (which is weird cause I swore he got those from me) Surprisingly they don't have the same nose-well at least in this picture. One of the first things I thought when I first saw Kallen was that he had Gentry's nose. Maybe he does...it just doesn't look like it to me.

So I didn't ever really think Raya looked like me. And then I started looking for a baby picture to put next to mine and I couldn't believe how much we do look alike! Yah! I think We have the same head shape, same jaw line. She definitely has my mouth and smile. We don't have the same nose. Our eyes are pretty similar. I think she has my mom's eyes though. I definitely have my dad's eyes, so we'll see how that works out. But I was so surprised by how many pictures I found of her that look so similar to this one of me. Yet my dad and Raya's dad look sooooo different. Lol. Guess my genes won this kid ;) Every since she was born I'd always look at her and think she looked so much like Gentry, especially when they were asleep. It's funny how these pictures of the 2 of us are so similar. I'm glad I have at least one baby that looks like me. Haha. Cause Kallen doesn't seem to have a single feature like me. Maybe that'll change as he grows....
I'm kinda obsessed with the comparison pictures, if you can't tell. Don't worry, I'm sure there will be more. Hehe.
TGIF!

First Sick Weekend :(

So Raya has NEVER been sick. Seriously. One time she threw up cause she ate something that didn't agree with her stomach, but was laughing while she was throwing up. And when I had bronchitis she had a little mini cough. She'd cough for like 5 minutes every morning for about a week, but that was it. So these weekend we all got it. Bad :( Well, minus Gentry. But I don't think he's in the clear quite yet. With all the coughing and snot in the house this weekend I will be SO surprised if he misses all the nasty germs. I hope it does!
I learned that Raya is one of those kids that, even when she's super sick, she still wants to Go Go Go. She's going to be the one I have to actually tell to lay down and rest so that she can get better. This picture was the day she got sick.

I was super sick, Raya was super sick, but Kallen is getting much better!!! We had Dr appts Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat morning. All were just follow ups and to check him out and make sure he was getting better and not worse. They did chest x-rays Friday to make sure there was no pneumonia developing and there wasn't. The chest x-rays were perfect. By Saturday our Dr told me I could cut the oxygen treatments out, or once a day if he was looking like he needed it. I've done them once a day because he still has a cough and he seems much better after the little boost of oxygen.

This is how we spent the majority of the weekend. Gentry was soooooo great :) I really did nothing. I was useless. And thanks to him we had food to eat. Lol.

Poor Raya was so sick. She would cry and it was just so pitiful. Like I said earlier, I've never had a sick kid, so this was a first. It was so sad!!! Poor baby. And there's really not much you can do for a kid just under 2. A little bit of Tylenol and then juice and soup. Riiiiight. Soup for a toddler? Who wants to feed herself. Good luck with that. But as I type right now Kallen is cooing away in his bouncer, Raya is up because she had a cough attack and wanted to cuddle, so she's sitting in Kallen's bumbo about 6 inches from the screen watching Wow Wow Wubbzy and we're all about to go to bed! My flu has moved to the head cold part so I can't taste anything!!!! UHHHHHH. I HATE when I can't taste. I'm guessing someone up above knows I have a wedding to be in next Saturday so they're helping me eat well ;) Cause if I can't taste it I won't eat it, right? Not gonna lie, there's a piece of lemon cake in the kitchen and about every 2 hours I take a bit to see if I can taste. I can't. At all. But I know that its so good so I imagine it. HAHA. So hopefully before Friday, when we leave for Cathleen's wedding in Palm Springs we'll all be on top of our game. Ps- Our family outfits for the wedding are so cute. Yah I said "family outfits" We're all coordinated. That's what we do :) I can't wait to post pictures!!!!
Just gonna wrap it up with some pictures of Little Big Man:
ALL he wanted to do was sleep. He really didn't want to eat and he definitely didn't want to be awake. This is him getting that goooood deep sleep :)

Sick, but still Cute!!!

Family Footsies ;)

Raya Recently

Girls are so much more fun to dress :) Lets start with this shirt from my Mom:

It's her Raya Rainbow shirt. Its pretty dang cute. When my mom got it it looked huge! We actually talked about ordering another one in a smaller size because it'd be forever until she fit into this one. And then 6 months later its perfect!
Her name on her sleeve
The back "Love, Nana 2010"

Just a cute one of her and Gentry when he got home from work.

Such a Cheeser

I LOVE these shoes!!! I would've bought them in a couple sizes, but this was the only pair and they were in her size. Can you say Fate?

I love that Gentry's shoes/feet are in the background. I didn't even plan that. I found these skinny jeans that bunch at the ankles when I found the shoes...all at Ross for so cheap :) God I love a good sale!
I've never been a Hello Kitty fan, but now that I have a daughter I think it's so cute!!!

This is a 6-12 month dress that still fits, but prob too short to be a dress, so it was a shirt today!

So grown.
MY FAVORITE!!!!

Sunday afternoon at Nana & Grandma's

Yep...Nana's teaching her just like she taught me :) Oh and guess who made Raya's flower girl dress for the wedding she's in..yep, my Dad. This is my life :) So glad Raya gets to experience it!

Ahhh, she's so fun to dress up :) I know I only have a little longer until she refuses to wear what I pick out. Oh man, that's gonna hurt! So until she does, I will take full advantage of this super fun time!

It's the Freakin Weekend...

So, I have a bunch of good pictures from this weekend. We didn't really do anything...just random weekend things people do, or shouldn't do with 2 small children- like shopping...so let's start with the BIGGEST diaper blow up I've ever witnessed. (And yes, it was a blow up, not blow out. Do you see this picture?!)
From the bottom of his leg to the neck. ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?
Yah so I had him in the baby pouch strapped to me. Now let me tell you a little about this boy. He farts like a grown man. Its ridiculous, unbelievable and hilarious all at the same time. Thing is, when he was strapped to me I was walking through the shoe section at TJ Maxx and there were a bunch of people, but it was surprisingly quite. So little man rips a big one and I'm like "Oh god, he's gonna keep going and this is so awkward." So I was trying to talk semi-loud to him. Like "Hey baby boy," in a tone that was loud enough to drowned out his farts, but not strangely loud so people would wonder why I was shouting at my 9 week old ;) So I find Gentry and Raya and tell him we gots to go, like now. Thennnn we get him out of the baby pouch and this is what we find! Thank god I wasn't by myself cause this was definitely a 2 person job. I really didn't even know where to start. We both were laughing so hard and in shock that this "little" baby really just s%#t all the way up to his NECK. So together we managed to get this off-of course it would be the day he's in a onesie that has to be pulled over his head. Lovely. And I did think about cutting it off, but it's one of his cuter outfits and since he outgrew his 0-3 month stuff so fast I need the few 6month things he has! LOL. After his full body wipe down we got him in another outfit and were ready to hit the stores again. And Gentry ends it with, "I bet you can't wait to blog about this." HAHA! You know it ;)
Post Blow-out and full body wipe down :)
Daddy's shopping buddy
So then we go back to Nordstrom Rack so I can try this dress on we saw as we were walking out. I've been looking for a bridesmaid dress for one of my Bff's wedding in 2 weeks. It's been quite the hunt because apparently Marigold isn't mainstream yet (which I'm sure you love, Cathleen). I see this perfect dress on a manikin and it seems to be the last one. I should've stopped on my way out but I really didn't think it was going to be such a popular dress. So I'm walking back into the store as the guy working there is putting the manikin back-NAKED. The dress is gone. Or so I think until I see a girl carrying it over her head and carelessly drops it into her shopping cart. UHHHH. I see that her Mom is in charge of the basket, so I get up close to make sure its the dress. It is. Frick. So I follow Mom as I brainstorm what to do. I tell Gentry that I'm going to follow them and see if she tries it on and hopefully it won't fit and she'll leave it in the dressing room. But no, they just got there and were determined to look at every piece of clothing in the freakin store. Mom was pretty old and using the cart as a crutch, and when I was right next to her I also saw that she had a bad eye, so yes, I thought about trying to sneak it out of the cart when her other eye was occupied. But the dress was the ONLY thing in the cart, so that would've been risky- well that and the fact that if Daughter happen to sneak up there I'd be with a baby strapped to me trying to jack "her" dress. Awkward. And she was bigger than me so I was slightly afraid. So I back off and play it cool. I see Daughter go back to the cart and decide to try the dress on right there. Over her clothes! And then WEAR IT the rest of the time she shops. Who does that?!?! So after 20minutes I decided it wasn't meant to be and we left. Sad :( And after we got to the car and got the kids all loaded up she came walking out of the store with it. So I guess she bought it. Luckily I have a dress. I liked this one way better, but it probably wouldn't match as good as the dress I currently have.

The dress I DIDN'T get
On a side note, I had my post baby appt and had lost all the weight I gained while pregnant with Kallen, plus 1lb! WHAT?! Yah, I guess my cheese burger every other day and nightly Hersey's chocolate bar really paid off ;) LOL. God Bless Breastfeeding is all I can say!!!! So I ordered this dress online and was so freaked out it wouldn't fit because it was a large and they said their sizes run small so order a size up, but of course the Large was as large as they went. Got the dress and it was big :) So I have a medium coming tomorrow. And that means I only have 10lbs to lose to get to my pre-pre pregnacy weight! 10lbs in nothing right? Yet its sooooo
The dress I ordered on-line.
These next pictures are from our walk on the boardwalk. It was the day before the big Japan earthquake, so the next day it was closed. It's been PERFECT beach walking weather. I got tan lines!!!! Nothing like burning calories AND working on your tan. Multitasking is my middle name. lol.
He started crying and she popped her head into his side and gave him his pacifier in a "I-know-what-to-do-when-this-baby-cries" kinda way. SOOOO cute :)
Enjoying her View
Had some down time and I got these cute ones
This is what it looks like when she gets too excited and too close to him. She didn't bite him :)
You can see the love in her expression :) She's kinda obsessed with him
Such different hair! Can you see Kallen's swirly? I have one in the exact same spot
Clearly Dad is more comfortable than the bed
A little Sunday morning Dancing

We started gutting our little baby backyard and of course Raya helped. What did we do before we had her? Lol. She spent a good couple hours out there keeping him company, but then she started eating the dirt...What is up with that?! A lady at the park told me her daughter ate sand all the time and ended up being iron deficient. Hmmmm. Raya doesn't eat it all the time, but about 80% of the time she tries to get at least one mouth full.
This is the side of the "yard." There's a bigger area not pictured that we're going to hopefully lay grass down at so we can get Raya a playhouse!
Discussing what type of grass to get. Obviously.

It was a great little weekend! I LOVE when its lighter out later, so Sunday was the best. I have more pictures of each of the kiddos, so I'll do some individual post asap. Have a good week!!!
