And Then There Were 2!

I feel like I've been waiting forever to let the world know Raya's gonna be a big sister! I found out about the middle of May and we told our family and some friends...I've just been so reluctant to make the "announcement" because of how un-pregnant I've felt. I've only had a couple days of morning sickness. Which, side note, is NOT in the morning. When I was pregnant with Raya the "morning" sickness was 24 hour sickness. I'm pretty sure a man named it morning sickness. Anyways...the only sickness I've had with this baby is maybe a couple nights and that was because I got hungry. So far, if I keep food in my stomach, I do pretty good. So all in all, very little nausea. I'm very thankful for that...well until I came across the stupid articles that say morning sickness means healthy babies. Uh! I did read plenty of responses to those articles from other mothers that experienced no sickness and had perfectly healthy babies, so that was good. But still. My doc has no concerns. I've had 3 ultrasounds, all of which were great. Strong heart beat, doin a little movin around. I think I'll feel better when I start feeling the baby move around. Honestly, I probably won't feel 100% until I see the little baby in real life :) But I am super excited. A little overwhelmed by the idea of 2. Raya is a handful. She's sooooo active- Like, she's only still if she's sleeping.  So we'll be a busy family for sure!!!

This is how we told our family. I put this shirt on under her jacket and then at dinner casually asked my mom to take her jacket off. My mom totally didn't even look. I could see Tara, my brother's girlfriend, eyeing her shirt...She's like "What does her shirt say" And I was like "I don't know, what does it say Mom?" My Mom is still totally oblivious and now confused. I just start laughing and eventually she reads the shirt. Pretty funny. When we got home from dinner we skyped with Raya's G-Pas in Dallas and Grandparents in Texarkana and held Raya up to the camera. Can I just say, Skyping is amazing!!! Its so great that Raya gets to see her Grandparents at the press of a button! And because she loves watching videos, its like she's watching videos of people that know her name! I'm sure she thinks she's famous :)
The shirt says "This Little Chick is Gonna Be A BIG SISTER"
Warm concrete, warm grass, warm chairs, if its warm she's gonna lay down :) Dax (our dog) is the same way

                                                  TWINS! They're too cute

4th of July all Weekend

We had a long weekend. It was nice! Started out with a little water time in the backyard. I got Raya this little lily pad that sprays water up. I thought she'd LOVE it. She liked it...maybe she'll LOVE it soon :) But she was entertained by it for a good 20 minutes. And 20 minutes is all I need for pictures that i LOVE. So it was a win win ;) This little Lady Bug suit it one of my Favs. I got it at Babies-R-Us. I try to stay out of there cause its just like Target to me- I go in for something I need, like diapers, and leave with 6 new outfits for Raya. However, when I put her in the outfits I never have buyers remorse!

Saturday I took Raya to Cathleen's Engagement Party at her Parent's House. It was a great Saturday afternoon! Loved seeing some of my friend's parents that have know me since I was in the 6th grade...and even more fun to bring Raya to meet them. The Celaya's have a pool...but they also have a small pond. It was only a matter of time before Raya was getting into one of them (did I mention this kid loves water?), so really I made the decision based on which body of water would allow me to sit and chat and let her play...so the pond it was! Awesome party etiquette. LOL.

This was before the pond...just eating some limes and working on her tan ;)

The Pond

Love her Face :)

The 4th of July was cool this year! Very sunny, but breezy. We went on a bike ride down to the beach. Bar-B-Qued some burgers at home. Then headed to the Firework Show. I had debated on taking Raya, and really it wasn't until the night before that I decided to take her. My Aunt Lois told me about how the Queen Mary has a firework show that you can see from the beach. This was perfect! We went down about 30 minutes before for the show, found a place to sit, and could see the show great- with no sound! Thats what I figured would freak Raya out, and I was right. Every once in awhile the law-breakers at the beach would shoot off some Illegal fireworks that made her jump...uhhh! But all in all it was good. She watched the whole show.
I took a bunch of pictures over the weekend (surprise, surprise), but only posted a few of my favorites...you can see all of them here: 4th of July Album

By Land or By Sea

Took Raya to the park yesterday. She was quite excited to be there. Sometimes taking her to the park is easier than letting her wander the backyard because, no matter what I do or say, she LOVES putting all the rocks in her mouth. Seriously, I've tried everything. And of course now its a game because she knows as soon as she pops a rock in her mouth I'm coming after her. She loves being chased, so there's the game. Wonderful.

She has a mouth full of teeth!!! 14 teeth at 14 months

I think she looks like a little girl here. Not so much like a baby anymore. Sweet picture :)

The parks by me are on the beach and so far if she's at the park she's not really interested in the beach part. But this park trip quickly turned into a beach trip. Of course I didn't bring a bathing suit...or a towel...or a change of clothes because I didn't plan on having a wet baby, but we made due.
